Setting up the CG (powerpoint presentation) is an essential job in preparing for the live announcements show. Every step must be followed and double-checked. Make sure to test everything out long before the announcements show begins. Work with the person setting up the mixer to make sure that the CG looks correct. So, study the steps, watch the tutorial and take the quiz. Then, when you're ready, go set up up the CG! Good luck!

If after viewing the tutorial and studying the steps, you still need further help, please contact a class "Trainer" to physically take you through the steps.

If you still don't feel confident to set up a job or run a job live during the announcements show, simply "shadow" another student while they work the job to get the feel of the steps needed.

And lastly, remember: Don't procrastinate and double-check everything!

  1. Get an announcements script for that days announcements.  (Usually the teleprompter set-up person will print out 4 copies.)
  2. Turn computer on.
  3. Open the Power Point document ‘Announcements CG Template’ located on the desktop.
  4. Save document as” today’s date.”
  5. Click on the slides and change the information according to the days announcements script.
  6. After changing info on slides delete any slides that were un-used.
  7. Save your document.  Now go through the slides to make sure the slides are correct.  Click on ‘Slide Show’ and ‘View Show’.  Simply use the UP and DOWN arrows to go through the slides.
  8. After all the info is correct and the slides are set up correctly, Click on ‘View Show’ and leave on first ‘STAND-BY’ slide and turn on scan-converter and put it into ‘OVERLAY’ mode.
