Setting up the cameras is an essential job in preparing for the live announcements show. Every step must be followed and double-checked. Make sure to test everything out long before the announcements show begins. Work with the person setting up the mixer to make sure that the cameras look correct from the mixer monitor. So, study the steps, watch the tutorial and take the quiz. Then, when you're ready, go set up up the cameras! Good luck!

Have no fear, help is HERE!

If after viewing the tutorial and studying the steps, you still need further help, please contact a class "Trainer" to physically take you through the steps.

If you still don't feel confident to set up a job or run a job live during the announcements show, simply "shadow" another student while they work the job to get the feel of the steps needed.

And lastly, remember: Don't procrastinate and double-check everything!

  1. Begin by placing charged batteries into cameras.
  2. Turn cameras on and into ‘camera’ mode.
  3. Make sure cameras are placed in the correct position (behind the teleprompter) and at the correct height (just above the teleprompter.)
  4. Adjust the exposure levels by pressing the button on the side of the camera and pressing up for lighter exposure and down for darker.
  5. Put the headphones on from camera A and do a mic check.  Make sure both studio microphones are on and that the mic levels are good.
  6. Since camera A will primarily be a two-shot, set the camera so that both talents are in shot and in focus.  Set camera B for a one-shot of the first talent to speak (just ask director who that will be.)
